How does the Alexander Technique work?

Babies and young children use their bodies in an ideal way, unencumbered by bad habits of posture or movement.

As we get older, however, most of us get out of kilter for one reason or another, maybe through illness, injury or stress with the speed and pressures of modern life. Emotional and physical strains accumulate and soon become fixed in the form of chronic muscle tension and reaction patterns of distortion throughout the musculoskeletal system. When the subconscious mechanisms for balance and posture are disturbed by habitual misuse, our functioning can be adversely affected.

Learning and applying the Alexander Technique can help you to regain a sense of balance in your body and in your life. Acquiring this skill is a re-education and for this reason we call ourselves teachers.
